Operating principle

How it works

01

Gas source

Chlorine, sulphur dioxide or ammonia is drawn under vacuum from cylinders or ton containers

02

Filtration

Gas passes through an integral filter removing moisture and foreign particulates

03

Regulation

Differential vacuum controller chamber in UHMWHDPE with Monel inlet valve regulates flow

04

Monitoring

Separate vacuum gauges and pressure gauges provide real-time system readings

05

Injection

Gas mixes with motive water at the injector and is carried to the application point

Safety system

Automatic Fail-Safe Protection

Any failure of the injector water supply or a blockage in the vacuum line causes the system to automatically isolate and vent the gas safely, even with the cylinder valve open. On-site PVC or carbon-steel piping modifications can be carried out as part of installation.

Detailed Overview

The SM-207 model SMPM Chlorinator is a high-capacity, floor-standing system designed for continuous and constant flow of chlorine, sulphur dioxide or ammonia gas in fully vacuum mode, with a differential vacuum controller chamber built in UHMWHDPE with a Monel inlet valve, flow meter, gas flow control valve, separate chlorine/water pressure and vacuum gauges, gas filter and an injector connecting motive water to the point of application. It ships in three capacity variants spanning 10,000 to 30,000 g/hr to cover everything from medium plants to large-scale municipal facilities. As with our other vacuum-feed chlorinators, any failure of the injector water supply or a blockage in the vacuum line causes the system to automatically isolate and vent the gas safely, even with the cylinder valve open — and on-site PVC or carbon-steel piping modifications can be carried out as part of installation.
